The Blackbraid Cradle of Filth tour is set to launch September 29 in San Diego, bringing one of black metal’s fastest-rising names into direct-support position for Cradle of Filth across North America.
Blackbraid will join Cradle of Filth on the upcoming Majestic in Death II tour after stepping into the slot originally held by Moonspell. Worm and Black Satellite will round out the package for the North American run.
The tour begins at The Observatory North Park in San Diego and continues across the United States and Canada through October 26, wrapping at Bogart’s in Cincinnati.
For Blackbraid, the run lands at a moment when the Indigenous black metal project continues expanding well beyond its underground roots.
Blackbraid Cradle of Filth Tour Begins September 29
Created by Sgah’gahsowáh, Blackbraid has built a formidable following through a fiercely independent approach to atmospheric black metal rooted in wilderness, identity and Indigenous perspective.
The Blackbraid Cradle of Filth tour places the project in front of considerably larger audiences while pairing it with one of extreme metal’s most enduring theatrical forces.
Cradle of Filth has spent more than three decades twisting black metal, gothic atmosphere and elaborate stagecraft into its own particular creature. Blackbraid brings something different to the bill: raw, atmospheric intensity stripped of much of the traditional black-metal pageantry.
Worm and Black Satellite add further contrast to the lineup, making Majestic in Death II less a one-flavor package than a collision of several darker corners of heavy music.
Blackbraid will remain on the tour through the October 26 Cincinnati date before breaking away for a special headlining appearance in Denver on October 28.
Blackbraid Steps In for Moonspell
The lineup change puts Blackbraid directly beneath Cradle of Filth after Moonspell exited the tour.
Rather than treating the replacement as a simple schedule adjustment, it gives Blackbraid a significant opportunity. Direct-support slots on tours of this size can expose an emerging artist to thousands of listeners who may know the name but have never seen the music performed live.
Blackbraid has already been moving steadily into that territory.
Earlier this year, the project released the independent EP Nocturnal Womb, featuring the title track alongside “Celestial Bloodlust” and an acoustic version of “Barefoot Ghost Dance on Blood Soaked Soil.”
The material followed the growing attention surrounding Blackbraid’s catalog while maintaining the independence that has remained central to the project from the beginning.
The Blackbraid Cradle of Filth tour now gives those songs another road test in rooms across North America.

Blackbraid will then headline Denver’s HQ on October 28.
Blackbraid Heads Overseas After North America
The North American run will not be the end of Blackbraid’s touring year.
Following the Blackbraid Cradle of Filth tour, Blackbraid is scheduled to join Converge and Sanguisugabogg for a European and UK run with Pupil Slicer later in the year.
Those dates include stops in Germany, France and the United Kingdom, culminating with a London performance in November.

The additional touring underscores how quickly Blackbraid has moved from an independent underground project into a name appearing alongside established international acts.
That growth has happened without sanding away the qualities that made Blackbraid interesting in the first place.
The music remains atmospheric, violent and intensely personal, rooted in a world far removed from the usual corpse-painted clichés recycled throughout parts of black metal.
A Bigger Stage for Blackbraid
Opening slots are easy to dismiss as another rung on the touring ladder.
This one feels more consequential.
The Blackbraid Cradle of Filth tour gives Blackbraid nearly a month of direct access to Cradle of Filth’s audience at a point when the project is already carrying substantial momentum of its own.
That does not mean Blackbraid suddenly needs validation from a veteran band.
Quite the opposite.
The project has already proved it can build an audience independently. What this tour provides is scale.
Different rooms. Bigger crowds. New ears.
And if Blackbraid’s rise over the past several years has demonstrated anything, it is that the project has been remarkably good at turning curiosity into converts.
