The Enslaved Sólstafir tour 2027 will bring two of the most distinctive names in Nordic heavy music together for a February co-headlining run across the UK and Europe, with Gaahls Wyrd joining as support.
The tour begins February 4 in Berlin and stretches through February 27 in Brno, taking the package through Germany, Denmark, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic.
For Enslaved, the run arrives shortly after the release of the band’s forthcoming studio album Mið, due October 30 via Nuclear Blast Records.
For Sólstafir, the pairing creates a bill built less around genre purity than atmosphere, weight and the strange northern alchemy both bands have spent years refining.
And with Gaahls Wyrd completing the lineup, the Enslaved Sólstafir tour 2027 looks less like a conventional package and more like three different paths through the darker edges of Scandinavian heavy music.
Enslaved Sólstafir Tour 2027 Begins in Berlin
The Enslaved Sólstafir tour 2027 launches February 4 at Festsaal in Berlin before moving through Leipzig, Hamburg, Copenhagen and Frankfurt.
From there, the tour pushes deeper into continental Europe with stops in France, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic.
London gets the only currently announced UK date on February 17 at Electric Ballroom.
The full run gives both headliners nearly a month of shared stages, with Gaahls Wyrd appearing throughout the tour.
It is a combination that makes sense without being obvious.
Enslaved has spent decades stretching black metal into progressive, psychedelic and mythological terrain.
Sólstafir has carved out a more atmospheric path, blending post-metal, rock, melancholia and vast cinematic spaces into music that often feels more like weather than genre.
Gaahls Wyrd brings yet another texture, rooted in black metal but never confined by it.
Together, the package should make for one of the more interesting heavy touring bills moving through Europe in early 2027.
Enslaved Enter a New Era With Mið
The Enslaved Sólstafir tour 2027 arrives as Enslaved prepares to release Mið, the band’s next studio album and latest chapter in a career that now spans 35 years and 17 records.
Set for release October 30 through Nuclear Blast Records, Mið continues Enslaved’s long fascination with Norse history, spirituality and philosophical ideas while pushing further into progressive territory.
The title refers to the concept of the middle, the origin and the present point from which everything extends outward.
That idea fits a band that has spent most of its career resisting easy categorization.
Enslaved began within the Norwegian black metal movement, but the band has spent decades dismantling and rebuilding that foundation.
Progressive rock, psychedelia, folk, atmosphere and extreme metal have all found their way into the band’s sound without fully replacing what came before.

Ahead of the Enslaved Sólstafir tour 2027, Enslaved has also unveiled “Tales of Trees,” the latest single from Mið.
The song follows previously released tracks “Solar Will” and “Spirit Helper,” the latter featuring Kevin Kicking Woman.
“Tales of Trees” uses the natural world as a parallel for the human condition, reflecting on growth, decay, care and collapse.
Vocalist and bassist Grutle Kjellson explained that trees can flourish, wither or burn depending on how they are treated, making them a fitting symbol for the human mind and humanity itself.
It is very much Enslaved territory. Nature becomes philosophy. Myth becomes psychology.
Black metal becomes something considerably stranger than black metal.

This is not simply a nostalgia package built around established bands. Enslaved is still actively changing.

Atmosphere, ritualistic pacing and experimentation sit alongside black metal foundations, giving Gaahls Wyrd a presence that fits naturally between Enslaved and Sólstafir without sounding interchangeable with either.
