Metallica will launch the run May 8 at BC Place in Vancouver before moving through San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison, Cleveland and Salt Lake City. The Metallica 2027 North American tour wraps June 19 at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
Limp Bizkit and Avatar will support Metallica at every show on the newly announced run, creating a package that pulls together three very different strains of heavy music under one enormous stadium roof.

The Metallica 2027 North American tour extends a touring cycle that began back in 2023 in support of 72 Seasons.
Four years later, the M72 machine is still moving. That kind of longevity would look absurd for most album cycles, but Metallica has turned M72 into something closer to a rolling global institution than a conventional tour.
The stage remains built in the round, with the band performing from the center of the stadium rather than from a traditional end-stage setup. The format has allowed Metallica to turn massive venues into something strangely communal, at least by stadium standards.

Limp Bizkit brings the late-’90s and early-2000s nu-metal chaos, a band whose reputation has gone through one of the more dramatic cultural reversals in heavy music.
Avatar brings theatrical modern metal with a significantly darker and more elaborate visual identity. Nobody is mistaking one band for another.
That gives the Metallica 2027 North American tour some actual contrast instead of three acts fighting over the same sonic territory.
And considering the sheer size of these stadiums, variety is probably a better weapon than genre purity.
The M72 World Tour Refuses to Die
The M72 World Tour began as the live campaign behind Metallica’s 2023 album 72 Seasons.
Normally, by 2027, everyone involved would have packed away the staging, sold the commemorative shirts and started talking vaguely about “the next chapter.” Metallica apparently missed that memo.

Metallica occupies a strange position in modern heavy music where a tour does not necessarily need a new album every eighteen months to remain viable. The catalog itself is the event.
Songs like “Master of Puppets,” “Enter Sandman,” “One,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls” and “Seek & Destroy” have long since escaped the boundaries of ordinary album cycles.
People do not necessarily buy Metallica tickets because there is a fresh promotional reason. They buy them because it is Metallica.

June 15 – Cleveland, OH – Huntington Bank Field
June 19 – Salt Lake City, UT – Rice-Eccles Stadium
Tickets for the newly announced dates went on general sale September 25, with enhanced experiences and travel packages also available for selected shows.
Stadium Metal Is Still Metallica’s Natural Habitat
There was a time when metal filling stadiums still felt slightly unnatural.
Metal was supposed to belong in clubs, theaters, grim arenas and rooms where the ceiling appeared structurally suspicious. Metallica destroyed that ceiling decades ago.
The Metallica 2027 North American tour is another reminder that this band now operates on a scale occupied by very few heavy artists.
Arrowhead Stadium, Lucas Oil Stadium, Highmark Stadium, BC Place. These are not oversized concert halls. They are buildings designed to contain professional football crowds.
And Metallica continues to walk into them with distorted guitars and make them feel almost normal.
Limp Bizkit’s Place on the Bill Says Something Too

For years, nu metal was treated as heavy music’s embarrassing relative. Then younger listeners discovered it without carrying the cultural baggage of 2001.

Putting them directly beneath Metallica across stadiums is a pretty loud confirmation that the rehabilitation is complete.

The Swedish group has built a modern metal identity around theatrical presentation, extreme-metal aggression, melody and an increasingly elaborate visual universe.
Against Metallica’s monumental legacy and Limp Bizkit’s resurrected cultural chaos, Avatar brings the newer-generation energy. That makes them an interesting bridge on the bill.
They are established enough to command serious attention while still occupying a very different place in heavy music’s timeline. For fans arriving early, they are hardly background music.
Metallica 2027 North American Tour Shows No Sign of Slowing Down
The strange thing about Metallica in 2027 is how little any of this feels ceremonial.
They are not operating like a band cautiously preserving a legacy. They are still touring at ridiculous scale, still building enormous productions and adding dates. Still pulling bands from different generations into their orbit.
The Metallica 2027 North American tour does not feel like a victory lap.
It feels like Metallica doing what Metallica does now. Take over a stadium. Put the stage in the middle. Invite tens of thousands of people inside. Turn the volume up until subtlety becomes somebody else’s problem.
