Gojira are turning volume into something useful in the Gojira St. Louis benefit show
The GRAMMY® Award-winning French metal quartet will perform a special one-night-only benefit show at The Sovereign in St. Louis, Missouri, on Friday, September 18, ahead of their appearance at Louder Than Life.
Special guests Locked Shut will open the evening, with doors scheduled for 7 p.m. CT.
Gojira St. Louis Benefit Show Will Support Operation Food Search
All proceeds from the performance will be donated to Operation Food Search, supporting the organization’s work combating hunger and providing essential resources to individuals and families throughout the St. Louis region.
Gojira explained that this show carries a little more weight than the average tour stop.
“ALL proceeds go to Operation Food Search, the biggest independent food bank in the city.”
The band also noted that tickets are $30, with the proceeds going directly toward helping keep people fed.
For a band long associated with environmental and humanitarian causes, the benefit fits naturally into Gojira’s broader history of using their platform for something beyond the stage.
They have previously supported causes ranging from environmental protection to animal welfare, including work connected with PETA.
And frankly, there are worse definitions of metal than getting loud while helping people eat.
An Intimate Gojira Show With a Bigger Purpose
Known for overwhelming live performances and a rare ability to make technical precision feel genuinely physical, Gojira playing an intimate one-night-only show would already be enough to get attention.
The charitable angle makes this one different.
Fans attending the St. Louis performance get the chance to see one of modern metal’s most formidable live bands in a smaller setting while directly contributing to a local organization working against food insecurity.
