For years, the safest prediction in rock music was that Liam and Noel Gallagher would eventually insult each other again.
Predicting that they would reunite Oasis, survive an enormous international comeback tour and then decide to do the whole bloody thing again? That required considerably more imagination.
But here we are. Oasis have officially announced OASIS LIVE 27, sending Liam and Noel Gallagher back onto stadium stages across the UK, mainland Europe, the United States and Ireland.
And perhaps the most remarkable part is no longer that Oasis reunited. It is that Oasis stayed reunited.
From Rock’s Great Divorce to a Second Chapter
When Oasis split in 2009, the breakup felt terminal.
The Gallagher brothers had spent years turning sibling hostility into an unofficial second discography, trading insults through interviews, social media and the press while both continued separate musical careers.
For more than a decade, an Oasis reunion became rock music’s equivalent of waiting for Halley’s Comet while being repeatedly told the comet hated its brother.
Then came Oasis Live 25. The band returned to the stage after approximately sixteen years apart, beginning a massive reunion run that eventually crossed the UK, Ireland, North America, Asia, Australia and South America.
The reunion was no longer hypothetical. Oasis were actually standing onstage together again. And, somehow, the earth remained on its axis.
Oasis Live 27 Makes the Reunion Something Bigger
Oasis Live 27 confirms that the reunion has moved beyond a one-time comeback, with another major stadium tour now scheduled for 2027.
The schedule includes multiple nights at Glasgow’s Celtic Park and Manchester’s Etihad Stadium before moving through Munich, Barcelona, Amsterdam, Paris and Rome.
The band then heads back to the United States for dates at Gillette Stadium near Boston and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before returning across the Atlantic for shows at Slane Castle and a substantial run at Knebworth Park.
Knebworth carries particular weight in Oasis history. Thirty-one years after the band’s legendary 1996 performances there became part of British rock mythology, Oasis will once again stand on the Knebworth stage.
This time, however, the mythology includes something nobody would have confidently predicted ten years ago: Liam and Noel are still doing this together.
The Gallagher Brothers Were Always the Story Behind the Story
Oasis were never simply a collection of songs. The combustible relationship between Liam and Noel Gallagher became inseparable from the identity of the band itself.
That tension helped create some extraordinary music, but eventually consumed the group.
Which makes the current chapter fascinating even beyond nostalgia.
Nobody outside the Gallagher family knows what their private relationship looks like now, and trying to turn every photograph, glance or stage interaction into amateur sibling psychology would be ridiculous.
What we can actually see is simpler, they are working together and have already completed a massive reunion tour. And now they have committed to another. For Oasis, that’s pretty significant.
Nostalgia Only Gets You Through the Door
There is obviously nostalgia involved. How could there not be?
Songs such as “Live Forever,” “Supersonic,” “Wonderwall,” “Champagne Supernova” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger” have spent decades becoming communal property for several generations of listeners.
But nostalgia alone does not sustain stadium tours of this scale.
The success of Oasis Live 25 demonstrated something considerably larger: the audience for Oasis never really disappeared, it waited. And when the doors reopened, millions were ready to walk back through them.
The reunion has also generated new projects around the band, including the documentary Oasis: Don’t Look Back In Anger, which chronicles the 2025 comeback tour. The film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in 2026.
Oasis Are No Longer Just Reuniting
Perhaps that is the biggest shift. Oasis Live 25 was a reunion. Oasis Live 27 feels like continuation.
Whether that eventually means new Oasis music, further tours or simply another enormous celebration of the catalogue remains unknown.
But one thing is already clear. The Gallagher brothers did not merely survive standing beside each other again. They apparently liked the view enough to come back.
For a band whose history often seemed destined to end with two brothers permanently walking in opposite directions, that might be the strangest Oasis plot twist of all.
Whether that eventually means new Oasis music remains the tantalizing unanswered question. Oasis have announced no new studio album, and for now Live 27 remains rooted in the catalogue that made the band enormous in the first place.
Still, a second major tour changes the conversation. This is no longer simply two estranged brothers agreeing to survive one carefully managed reunion run. Oasis are continuing.
Whether that continuation ever reaches the studio is another matter entirely. But for the first time in years, asking about the next Oasis chapter no longer feels ridiculous.
