Future Static Ornaments & Memories Arrives With Confronting New Single “State of Mind”

November 7, 2026

Written By Sabbatha Ashvale

Future Static Ornaments & Memories has arrived, bringing the Melbourne heavy act’s second album to audiences on November 6, 2026 via Wild Thing Records. Alongside the release, the band introduced “State of Mind,” a song that tackles difficult questions of memory, consent and emotional aftermath.

Future Static’s evolving identity blends heavy alternative music with more melodic and atmospheric approaches. Rather than treat the new album solely as a collection of riffs, the release places emotionally demanding subject matter at its center.

Future Static Ornaments & Memories reaches its release date

The band’s official site confirms that Ornaments & Memories is available now, with accompanying music videos and future live dates. Wild Thing Records likewise lists November 6 as the record’s release date.

The album rollout has included the title track and “Swing,” offering several entrances into the project. The release-day focus on “State of Mind” adds another dimension, confronting the uncertainty of recollection and the consequences of experiences that are difficult to process.

“State of Mind” puts complicated subject matter in the foreground

In the label-supplied announcement, “State of Mind” is presented as one of the album’s most challenging moments. That’s a description of the band’s stated subject matter, not a claim about events involving any real individual. The framing makes clear that the song is addressing consent and memory as themes.

For metal audiences interested in where younger alternative-heavy bands are taking the genre, the Future Static Ornaments & Memories release offers a timely reason to get acquainted. It is also a reminder that emotional weight and musical aggression are not opposing forces.

Metal Lair will keep an eye on the band’s upcoming live performances and further videos as the record finds its audience.
