FALLING IN REVERSE “JOSEPH” FEATURING COREY TAYLOR AND SERJ TANKIAN HOLDS BILLBOARD NO. 1

Falling in Reverse has delivered one of heavy music’s most unexpected collaborations of 2026, bringing together Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor and System of a Down vocalist Serj Tankian on the band’s single “Joseph.”

Released September 14 through Epitaph Records, Falling in Reverse “Joseph” has made an immediate commercial impact, spending three consecutive weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart through the October 10 ranking.

The achievement marks the band’s seventh chart-topper on the ranking and brings together three vocalists whose careers represent distinctly different corners of modern heavy music.

For Ronnie Radke and Falling in Reverse, the collaboration continues a pattern of ambitious, high-profile releases that have helped the band maintain its presence across rock, metal, and streaming audiences.

FALLING IN REVERSE “JOSEPH” UNITES THREE DISTINCTIVE VOICES

The arrival of “Joseph” marks the first time Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian have appeared together on the same recording.

Taylor’s work with Slipknot has long been associated with aggressive vocal delivery, rhythmic precision, and emotionally confrontational songwriting. Tankian, meanwhile, helped establish System of a Down’s unmistakable identity through theatrical vocal shifts, unconventional melodies, and politically charged music.

Radke brings a different musical sensibility, shaped by Falling in Reverse’s combination of metalcore, alternative metal, electronic influences, and genre-crossing experimentation.

Their collaboration places three recognizable personalities within a single recording, creating a meeting point between different generations and approaches to heavy music.

The song takes its title from Ronnie Radke’s middle name, Joseph, giving the release a personal connection to the band’s frontman.

Although Taylor previously collaborated with Falling in Reverse on “Drugs” in 2019, “Joseph” marks Tankian’s first appearance on a Falling in Reverse release.

“JOSEPH” MUSIC VIDEO FEATURES COREY TAYLOR AND SERJ TANKIAN

Accompanying the single is an official music video directed by Jensen Noen.

Rather than limiting the guest appearances to the audio recording, the video features Taylor and Tankian alongside Radke, placing the collaboration at the center of the visual presentation.

Noen has developed a reputation for elaborate, cinematic music videos, and his involvement continues Falling in Reverse’s emphasis on high-production visual releases.

The band has repeatedly used music videos as a significant part of its release strategy, building anticipation and conversation around individual songs rather than relying exclusively on traditional album campaigns.

“Joseph” follows that approach, giving audiences a standalone release with a substantial guest lineup and its own visual identity.

“JOSEPH” REACHES NO. 1 ON BILLBOARD’S HOT HARD ROCK SONGS CHART

The commercial response to Falling in Reverse “Joseph” was immediate.

The single debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart dated September 26, 2026, becoming the band’s seventh leader on the ranking.

According to Billboard’s reporting using Luminate data, the song accumulated approximately 2.2 million eligible streams, 49,000 radio audience impressions, and 3,000 sales in the United States during the tracking week ending September 17.

Those figures were achieved despite the single being available for only part of the tracking period.

The song subsequently remained at No. 1 for three consecutive chart weeks, retaining the lead on the October 10 ranking.

With seven chart-toppers, Falling in Reverse matched Bring Me the Horizon’s total on the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart at the time of the achievement.

The band’s history with the ranking extends back to its creation in June 2020, when “Popular Monster” became its inaugural No. 1.

Four years later, “All My Life,” featuring Jelly Roll, spent 11 weeks atop the Hot Hard Rock Songs chart in 2024.

These achievements reflect Falling in Reverse’s ability to reach listeners well beyond a single subgenre, combining established rock audiences with digital-era music consumption.

FALLING IN REVERSE CONTINUES ITS RUN OF HIGH-PROFILE COLLABORATIONS

“Joseph” follows a succession of releases that have increasingly emphasized collaborations with recognizable artists.

In 2024, Falling in Reverse released Popular Monster, an album featuring “All My Life” with Jelly Roll and “Ronald” with Tech N9ne and Alex Terrible.

The band followed with “God Is a Weapon,” featuring Marilyn Manson, in May 2025.

Now, bringing Corey Taylor and Serj Tankian together represents another significant step in that strategy.

The combination is particularly notable because Slipknot and System of a Down helped define different strands of heavy music during the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Both artists have maintained distinctive musical identities while influencing generations of musicians who followed.

Their appearance alongside Radke places Falling in Reverse at the intersection of several influential approaches to modern heavy music.

WHAT COMES NEXT FOR FALLING IN REVERSE?

For now, “Joseph” stands as an independent single rather than part of a newly announced studio album.

The band’s most recent full-length release remains Popular Monster, issued in August 2024.

With another No. 1 single and a collaboration featuring two of metal’s most recognizable vocalists, Falling in Reverse continues generating considerable attention between album cycles.

Whether “Joseph” signals a larger forthcoming project remains to be seen. What is clear is that the song has already made a measurable commercial impact.

For a band whose releases frequently cross stylistic boundaries, the continued success of Falling in Reverse “Joseph” demonstrates how major collaborations, distinctive visual presentation, and established audience loyalty can combine to dominate the hard rock charts.
