Bruce Dickinson new solo single news comes with a warning: the Iron Maiden frontman thinks his upcoming music video might irritate the Catholic Church. As publicity strategies go, that’s certainly more entertaining than a countdown clock and a mysterious photograph of a door.
Speaking to Chile’s Radio Futuro in an interview reported November 1, 2026, Dickinson said the first single from his next solo album should arrive in roughly ten days. That’s the singer’s estimate, not a confirmed release date. The album is expected in early 2027 through BMG, following 2024’s The Mandrake Project.
Bruce Dickinson’s New Solo Video Takes Aim at Dishonesty
Dickinson described the video’s central theme as truth, or rather the remarkable shortage of it in public conversation. His comments swept in politicians, social-media influencers, bloggers and the endless noise of people talking without listening. If he plans to make all of them uncomfortable in one music video, the casting department deserves hazard pay.
He also hinted at imagery that might trouble Catholic viewers. But no controversy has actually occurred yet, and nobody has produced an official statement of outrage. At present, it’s Dickinson teasing the clip, not a Church-versus-metal showdown. There’s a difference, and we’re not going to manufacture an exorcism for clicks.
Eighteen Songs, Three Weeks, and No AI
Most of the forthcoming record was tracked in January and February 2026 at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, with producer Brendan Duffey. Dickinson said the band spent three intense weeks recording 18 songs, leaving some aside rather than turning the project into a double album.
He also reiterated his opposition to AI-generated music and stressed that the album was built around human performance without samples. Whatever listeners make of his position, it dovetails neatly with the new single’s stated theme: say something real, play something real, and stop mistaking noise for a point of view.
The sessions follow The Mandrake Project, Dickinson’s 2024 solo album, which Metal Lair previously explored in our Mandrake Project feature.
The PsychoGod Tour Is Coming in 2027
Dickinson’s solo touring plans for 2027 are already taking shape under the PsychoGod name, with European dates and a band featuring guitarists Chris Declercq and Philip Näslund, bassist Tanya O’Callaghan, keyboardist Mistheria and drummer Dave Moreno.
For now, the title and actual release date of the first new song remain unannounced. But a vocalist with Dickinson’s reputation promising a truth-themed video that might antagonize a religious institution? The internet will have its pitchforks polished before the opening riff.
