Hollywood Vampires new album 2027 plans are back in the conversation, and apparently someone needs to persuade Johnny Depp to leave his castle. The rock supergroup featuring Depp, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and Tommy Henriksen is discussing fresh studio work after the new year, with a possible return to U.S. stages also on the table.
In a September interview with InBoston, Perry said the band hopes to focus its next run on America after its 2026 European shows. He also indicated that Depp may have more room in his schedule for another album. Neither a recording start date nor American concert dates have been confirmed.
The 44-Room Castle Problem
Earlier in July, Cooper had offered a distinctly Hollywood Vampires explanation for the long wait since 2019’s Rise: coordinating everybody’s day jobs is difficult, and persuading Depp to emerge from his 44-room castle may be harder still.
It’s an irresistible image: Alice Cooper and Joe Perry ready to make another record while their guitarist is somewhere behind the gates of a residence large enough to require its own road crew. Jokes aside, the musicians have repeatedly expressed interest in recording together again. The challenge is finding a stretch of time when everyone is available.
What Is Actually Confirmed?
The Hollywood Vampires returned to European stages in 2026 and released At Montreux Jazz Festival, a live album drawn from their 2018 performance. Their documentary, Unleashed Spirits: The Rise of the Hollywood Vampires, also premiered at the Boston Film Festival in September.
A third studio album remains a possibility, not a completed record or an announced release. Perry’s comments are encouraging, but fans will still have to wait for an official studio timetable, track details, and any U.S. concert announcement.
Metal Lair previously explored the band’s documentary and recording plans in Hollywood Vampires Refuse to Stay Dead, and covered Depp and Cooper’s Ozzy Osbourne tribute. For more of the band’s history, revisit our reports on the Live in Rio album announcement and “I Got a Line on You” video and their “My Generation” live performance video. We also covered Johnny Depp’s collaboration and tour with Jeff Beck.
If Depp does eventually emerge from that castle with a guitar, there will be plenty of rock fans waiting. The question is whether we’ll hear new Hollywood Vampires music first or see them back on an American stage.
