Skid Row New Singer Justin Sargent Found After Worldwide Search

October 31, 2026

Written By Caine Blackthorn

Skid Row new singer Justin Sargent has officially been announced, ending a worldwide search with a twist: the voice they wanted was waiting in the band’s home state of New Jersey.

The announcement came October 29, 2026, after more than two years away from the stage. Hundreds of miles and countless audition submissions later, Skid Row’s next chapter begins with a performer already familiar with the demands of a big stage. Sargent’s credits include the Broadway productions Rock of Ages and Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

Skid Row New Singer Justin Sargent: The Search Ends in New Jersey

Skid Row’s global search included an open-call initiative with music retailer Sweetwater. But Sargent first caught the group’s attention in 2025, and months of rehearsals, conversations and time together followed.

Bassist Rachel Bolan said Sargent immediately felt like one of the band and impressed him with his power and conviction. Guitarist Dave “Snake” Sabo likewise emphasized the singer’s voice, attitude and chemistry with the musicians.

Sargent, meanwhile, has been singing Skid Row songs for years. Joining the band is something he never imagined would happen. It’s a lovely bit of rock-and-roll irony: an international search that ultimately circled back to New Jersey.

There is a more revealing detail behind that unlikely outcome. In an October 29 interview with MusicRadar, Sargent explained that Skid Row manager Robby Hoffman spotted him singing at a charity event in New Jersey. An email followed, then auditions and rehearsals. The band had been considering singers from around the world, but the introduction that stuck began at a local show.

Rachel Bolan told MusicRadar that the band initially sent Sargent five songs to learn. He arrived knowing the whole set, an early indication that he was approaching the role as more than an audition. The bassist also emphasized the importance of chemistry: the musicians repeatedly invited Sargent back and found that working together felt natural. Those practical details explain more about the decision than another round of arguments over who should front Skid Row.

Hear Justin Sargent on “Won’t Get Fooled Again”

Rather than announce a name and leave everyone wondering what he sounds like, Skid Row recorded a cover of The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” The recording was produced by Nick Raskulinecz, who also worked on the band’s 2022 album The Gang’s All Here.

The accompanying performance video, directed by Dale “Rage” Resteghini, gives fans their first official look at this lineup in action. The recording was released to streaming platforms on October 30, with a limited hand-signed seven-inch vinyl edition also announced. Only 500 copies are planned worldwide.

According to Sargent’s MusicRadar interview, the idea to cover The Who came from the new singer himself. The band agreed, reshaping the nearly eight-minute classic into a shorter arrangement. That makes the song an especially fitting first recording: listeners hear Sargent with Skid Row, but also hear an early creative decision he helped make. Watch the band’s official music video below.

Skid Row also links to the official video and streaming options in their announcement, alongside details of the signed vinyl edition.

Skid Row Return to the Stage in 2027

The band’s first dates with Sargent begin in March 2027. Announced shows include Rancho Mirage, New Buffalo, Atlantic City, Reno and Niagara Falls, as well as festival appearances at Welcome to Rockville in Florida and Sonic Temple in Ohio.

The new lineup is already working beyond the introductory cover. Sargent told MusicRadar that he has recorded demo vocals for material written by the band, while Bolan said the musicians are building a collection of songs toward a future record. There is no confirmed new-album date, so a finished studio album should not be treated as an announced release.

For now, the Skid Row new singer Justin Sargent announcement gives fans something more useful than speculation: an actual recording, an official performance video and confirmed 2027 concerts. A Broadway résumé might have drawn initial curiosity, but what matters next is how his voice and the band’s chemistry hold up when those songs reach the stage.
