British band Matador’s stunning sludge rock cover of the Pixies classic ‘Where Is My Mind?’, is out today on Church Road Records.
“With the band spread across three continents at the time, we wanted to see if we could make a record remotely. So we started with this, an iconic track to use as a test to see if the process worked. It turned out better than we’d hoped, gave us the confidence to keep going, and we ended up making the whole record that way. Maxence Cyrin did a beautiful piano version of the song which James’s wife walked down the aisle to and we thought it would be fun to go the other way and do a heavy version of it.” – Matador
The band released their debut album ‘Above, Below and So’ earlier this year.
