This September, Mallavora will present an exclusive immersive audio-visual installation on their UK headline tour, expanding the world of their debut album “What If Better Never Comes?” beyond the stage.
Created as a standalone pre-show experience, the installation invites audiences into the emotional landscape of the record before Mallavora’s performance. The band have composed an original soundscape in 7.1 surround sound, which will accompany projection-mapped animations, blurring the boundaries between music, exhibition and performance art.
Drawing from the themes and textures within “What If Better Never Comes?”, fragments of the album’s sonic and visual language are reimagined into a physical environment that audiences can inhabit, offering a new way to engage with Mallavora’s exploration of chronic illness, uncertainty and transformation.
“For the WIBNC headline tour, we didn’t want to just put on a regular production where we played the songs and that was it. The concept of the album is so meaningful to us, that we were determined to bring it to life in an immersive way for our fans. We are so excited to share this one-off experience with everyone this September”. – Mallavora
The installation has been developed exclusively for this tour, thanks to support from PRS Foundation.
