Athens based noise-punk band Commuter have just released “Guilt Beats Hate,” their first track since their debut album ‘Guilt Eraser’ and their first recording with new guitarist Kostas Bariamis. Recorded raw, the song captures their live dynamic, which is loud, messy, and direct. The track will be featured on the band’s sophomore album (more info coming soon!).
The track was recorded, mixed and produced by Alex Bolpasis at Suono Studio (Athens,Greece) and mastered by Greg Obis at Chicago Mastering Service (Chicago,US).
The music video was shot and directed by Christos Lianopoulos at Freaks Studio (Athens,Greece).
Commuter started as a musical project of Dionysis Koutavas (vocals/guitar) in Athens (Greece) in 2019. The project became a full band in October 2021 with the addition of Dimitris Koutsoulis (drums), Spilios Kakkas (bass/vocals) and Alexandros Kolokythas (guitar).
Influenced by the post-punk sounds of the Canadian scene as well as the new wave of UK bands, Commuter have played live shows alongside popular Greek bands (The Steams, Deaf Radio) as well as well known international bands (Dry Cleaning, Protomartyr, SONS, Unschooling).
Commuter released their first self-titled EP in January 2023 on all streaming platforms and cassette via Bitter Tea Records.
