Swedish heavy metal band Crystal Eyes have released their ninth studio album, Thunder God, today, October 30, through Massacre Records, alongside the new single and music video “Remembrance.”
The Crystal Eyes Thunder God album features nine tracks rooted in traditional heavy metal and power metal, combining melodic guitar work, powerful choruses, and the band’s commitment to classic metal songwriting.
The latest single, “Remembrance,” pays tribute to Ronnie James Dio, Gary Moore, Ozzy Osbourne, and other influential musicians whose work continues to resonate throughout heavy metal.
Crystal Eyes Pay Tribute to Metal Legends With “Remembrance”
Frontman, guitarist, and songwriter Mikael Dahl explains that “Remembrance” was written to honor the musicians who shaped his musical journey.
According to Dahl, the song was already partially completed when news of Ozzy Osbourne’s death emerged in July 2025. After spending two weeks listening extensively to Osbourne’s music, he composed an acoustic middle section as a personal tribute to the Black Sabbath frontman.
The finished composition draws inspiration from classic heavy metal songs including “Heaven and Hell” and “Mr. Crowley,” combining atmospheric passages with commanding guitar arrangements and melodic grandeur.
References to the musicians honored in the song appear throughout its lyrics and musical arrangements, giving listeners an opportunity to recognize familiar influences.

The album was produced with a focus on classic heavy metal guitar sounds, incorporating vintage Marshall amplifiers, cabinets, and effects pedals. Mixing and mastering were handled by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman, while the cover artwork was created by Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák.
