Glasgow two-piece Moni Jitchell have released their new album AWARE, a nine-track record that presses their restless post-hardcore sound into sharper, more unpredictable shapes. The independent release arrives with a new music video for opening track “Ask.”
For listeners drawn to the boundary-pushing intensity of The Armed, Show Me the Body and Melt-Banana, Moni Jitchell offer their own distinctly unruly take: riffs that lurch and accelerate, sudden changes of direction, and a collision of abrasive energy with art-rock instincts.
Moni Jitchell New Album AWARE: A Restless Second LP
AWARE develops the duo’s identity without sanding away its rough edges. Grant Donaldson handles vocals, drums and synths, while David Scott plays guitar and bass. The record’s visual world, created by Sean Patrick Campbell and Mitchell F Gillies, complements its uneasy, kinetic atmosphere.
The band describe “Ask” as a longstanding part of their live show, with an earlier version appearing on their 2024 live album One Year Unreal. Running just under 90 seconds, the track sets the pace immediately, packing jagged riffs and rapid shifts into a compact opening statement.

Across its nine songs, AWARE embraces density and momentum, presenting Moni Jitchell as a band more interested in making something unmistakably their own than following an established formula.
