3.Ensiferum – Long Cold Winter of Sorrow and Strife

Long Cold Winter Of Sorrow And Strife is the latest single from Finnish folk metal giants, ENSIFERUM. The heroic new track comes by way of the band’s stunning new studio album, Winter Storm, set for release on October 18th through Metal Blade Records. You can order here.

5. Sybreed – Machine Gun Messiah

It’s been 20 years since Sybreed unleashed our debut album “Slave Design”. They are releasing a special anniversary edition including unreleased material, remastered by Jens Bogren on October 4th 2024, through Aggregate Media. You can preorder it here.

The rapid onset of one of their heavier tracks “Machine Gun Messiah” sharply contrasts with the album’s slower, pulse-driven tracks on the album and creates a distinct shift. Each track on the album is enjoyable.

6. Black Label Society – The Gallows

BLACK LABEL SOCIETY, the hard rock powerhouse founded by guitar icon Zakk Wylde, has unleashed a brand-new single titled “The Gallows” via MNRK Heavy (formerly eOne Music). The track showcases the band’s signature blend of bone-crushing riffs, soulful melodies, and a relentless energy that fans have come to expect. “The Gallows” is available across all major streaming platforms. BLS has been working on an unnamed and unannounced new album so we will have to wait and see what comes next.

7. Mastodon & Lamb of God – Floods Of Triton

MASTODON and LAMB OF GOD have released a new collaborative single titled “Floods Of Triton.” Recorded before their recently concluded “Ashes Of Leviathan” tour, the track is available for streaming below.

Released via Loma Vista Recordings, “Floods Of Triton” is a high-octane anthem that captures the essence of the bands’ early sounds while incorporating the broad stylistic range that has established them as icons in heavy music. Order here.
