Want to own a piece of Ed Force One? Heres your chance. A legendary piece of rock history is taking flight once again. This time, in the palm of your hand. Aviationtag, the German company known for transforming retired aircraft into collectible keepsakes, has unveiled an exclusive, one of a kind release. A limited edition tag crafted from the fuselage of Ed Force One. The iconic Boeing 747 that carried IRON MAIDEN around the world on their massive The Book of Souls tour in 2016.
Ed Force One wasn’t just a plane; it was a soaring emblem of IRON MAIDEN’s global domination. This mighty Boeing 747-400 (registration TF-AAK) was responsible for transporting the band, crew, and an arsenal of stage gear across continents, ensuring the heavy metal legends could deliver their electrifying performances to millions of fans. And at the helm? None other than frontman Bruce Dickinson, an actual licensed pilot who personally flew the jet, solidifying Ed Force One’s status as the ultimate “flying tour bus.”
For Dickinson, the aircraft was more than just a means of transportation. “She always behaved like the Queen of the Skies that the 747 will always be,” he recalled. “There will never be another to occupy her throne.” With its thunderous engines and graceful landings, Ed Force One embodied both raw power and elegance, mirroring the very essence of IRON MAIDEN itself.
Now, thanks to Aviationtag, a piece of this legendary aircraft lives on. The Ed Force One Aviationtag edition is crafted from the very metal that once ruled the skies, meticulously upcycled from the scrapped 747 in 2024. Each tag features the unmistakable Ed Force One logo on the front, while the back showcases Eddie, IRON MAIDEN’s fearsome mascot. A perfect fusion of aviation history and heavy metal legacy.
Aviationtag has also released a special video celebrating the launch, along with an exclusive interview with Bruce Dickinson, available in a collector’s booklet included with every tag.
This isn’t just a piece of metal, it’s a relic of rock ‘n’ roll history. A tribute to the aircraft that turned heads even among world leaders.
Tobias Richter, CCO at Aviationtag, states: “We have been working on this project for over two years, and we’re proud to finally present our Aviationtag x Iron Maiden Edition. Ed Force One is one of the most famous aircraft in the world, and this edition captures its enduring legacy in a truly collectible form.”
With this Aviationtag edition, fans can now hold a tangible piece of aviation and rock history in their hands.
Each tag is sized around 1.5 by 3.5 inches (35 by 88 millimeters) and retails at €66.66 (around $73) on Aviationtag‘s web site. The price point is a nod to 666 and the IRON MAIDEN classic “The Number Of The Beast”.
