Downpour‘s new single ‘Barely Afloat‘ is out this Friday on 26th September [self-released].
Hailing from across the UK, Downpour are a high energy melodic hardcore band. With a potent blend of searing riffs, impassioned vocals, and relentless energy, they’re carving out their own space in the UK heavy music scene.
Featuring Rich Lardner of Lock & Key and ex-We Struck Gold members. Downpour’s journey began with a shared love for the intensity of melodic hardcore music and a desire to push boundaries. Drawing inspiration from the likes of classic hardcore legends and modern melodic innovators such as Counterparts, The Ghost Inside and Stick To Your Guns, they’ve honed a sound that’s both ferocious and melodically rich.
Their new single “Barely Afloat” opens up about their shared experiences with mental health struggles:“The song was born during a period when Jesse [guitar/vocals] was facing serious health challenges. I connected deeply with that, having fought my own battles with health.
