Prog/post rock Glaswegians Atlas : Empire are back with their latest lush sing along ‘Rêverie‘ which is out today and streaming everywhere.
This track has a slightly darker vibe compared to their previous single ‘Happy As Lazarus‘, offering a nice yin to the yang of their upcoming 7 inch record release that will feature both tracks.
“Rêverie is a song about learning how to accept love again. We’re all shaped by our experiences, both positively & negatively, and Rêverie explores the barriers we create following traumatic relationships, the process of overcoming those fears and ultimately allowing yourself to fall for someone again.” – Atlas : Empire
The band will be self releasing the vinyl themselves this month and will be playing two headline shows in support of the release.
14/11/25 @ The Blue Lamp, Aberdeen 15/11/25 @ BLOC+, Glasgow
Atlas : Empire is a post/alt.rock band, based in Glasgow, UK. Since their inception in 2011, the band has continually evolved & expanded their sonic landscape, never simply content to regurgitate the same sounds over & over. This desire for exploration has seen Atlas : Empire showcase their unique mix of alternative genres to live audiences throughout the UK, Europe, Ukraine & Canada, sharing stages with a diverse array of artists including; The Appleseed Cast, Tiny Moving Parts, Wintersleep, Microwave, Good Tiger, The Dear Hunter, Closure In Moscow, Nothing & October Drift.
In 2020, founding members & songwriters Steven Gillies & Jamie Sturt recruited former FOES drumming powerhouse, James Lorenzo, and spent the next few years meticulously crafting their finest material to date – 2023’s “Everything Is Temporary“. This album displayed Atlas : Empire focusing their expansive, structurally complex progressive rock into a more streamlined & vocally driven format, blending post-rock/shoegaze textures with the energy of late 90’s & early 00’s Alt.Rock & 2nd wave emo.
Earlier this year, the band released “Happy As Lazarus“, their first new music in almost two years. Mixed by Tom Peters (Vennart, Lakes, A Burial At Sea) & mastered by Ed Woods (The XCerts, Reuben, VUKOVI) the song was a snapshot of Atlas : Empire’s ever-evolving sound – “Reverie” offers an insight into the next chapter.
