Florida death metal veterans DEICIDE have canceled the last three shows of their North American tour with Krisium, K”Inferi and Cloak in order to return home “to protect” their “families and properties” as Floridians prep for major hurricane to hit the Gulf Coast Wednesday evening.
On Monday (October 7), DEICIDE released the following statement via social media: “Due to the pending landfall of hurricane Milton on central Florida and the gulf coast , we will be leaving the tour after the performance in Corpus Christi Texas and heading back to the state of Florida to protect our families and properties, we are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate your understanding, Houston, New Orleans and Pensacola will be canceled to allow us time to return to our families and homes. We will be playing early tonight 8 to 9 so hurry out tonight!”
Hurricane Milton is expected to make landfall in Tampa, Fla., on Wednesday, bringing potentially life-threatening hazards to the state for the second time in less than two weeks after Milton comes shortly after hurricane Helene hammered northern Florida and the Carolinas, causing folks like Cannibal Corpse‘s Erik Rutan to leave for home and assess the damage.
Meteorologists are warning the category 4 monster storm could be one of the biggest hurricanes in history.
It’s “nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth’s atmosphere over this ocean water can produce,” one Sunshine State meteorologist said late Monday.
DEICIDE‘s latest album, Banished By Sin, was released in April through Reigning Phoenix Music.
