Canadian melodic death metal heavyweights Threat Signal have officially declared an end to their nearly decade-long hiatus. After years of radio silence following 2017’s Disconnect, the band is roaring back into the spotlight with a brand-new full-length studio album titled Revelations.
Scheduled for a worldwide release on March 27, 2026, via Agonia Records, Revelations promises a return to the technical precision and crushing grooves that first put the band on the map.
The First Strike: “Non-Essential”
To kick off this new era, the band unleashed the lead single “Non-Essential” on January 29, 2026. The track serves as a blistering mission statement, blending high-velocity thrash elements with the soaring melodic hooks that have become a hallmark of the Jon Howard-led outfit.
Production and Visual Art
The album was a labor of love for frontman Jon Howard, who handled mixing and production duties at his own Woodward Avenue Studio. For the final sonic polish, the band enlisted mastering legend Ted Jensen.
Adding to the album’s prestige is the cover art, created by the renowned Travis Smith. Smith’s involvement is a massive nod to the band’s roots, as he is famous for designing iconic visuals for metal titans like Death and Opeth.
A Powerhouse Lineup
The recording lineup for Revelations sees a formidable mix of longtime members and the return of a fan-favorite:

Jon Howard – Vocals
Pat Kavanagh – Bass
Travis Montgomery – Guitar
Joey Muha – Drums (Making his highly-anticipated return to the kit)
Oswin Wong – Guitar (The band’s newest addition)
