Zakk Wylde, front man for Black Label Society and known for his role as the driving force behind Pantera, has managed to carve out some time to craft a new album. Despite his hectic schedule, Wylde has been diligently working on new material for the band. Earlier this year, in an interview with Scott Davidson of Chicago’s Rebel Radio 92.5 FM, Wylde revealed his commitment to the upcoming Black Label Society album.
“Actually, when I get done talking to you, I’m going to my studio, Black Vatican,” Wylde shared. “I’m tracking some more stuff today right now. So during the times I’m home, I’ll be doing some recording and stuff like that for the next album. I’ve gotta pick my spot for when I’m home. Then I can do some recording, and then, before you know it, we’re back out on the road again.”
This revelation was followed by an exciting announcement for fans: a new single titled “The Gallows” is set to drop on September 10. This single is likely to coincide with the announcement of the new album, although details on the record’s release date are still forthcoming.
In a related update, drummer Jeff Fabb provided some insights into the timeline for the album’s release. During an interview with Metal Mayhem ROC, Fabb indicated that the album might be expected in the new year. He also hinted at the possibility of a supporting tour.
“I don’t know exactly when it’s gonna be released, but I heard sometime in the new year. So I would assume that we’re gonna tour it,” Fabb said. “Actually, I’m about to go to Zakk’s house in the next few days and finish up a few more songs that he wrote. And then, yeah, that’s pretty much it. We’ve got that show in September and then I would assume that we’re gonna hit the road at some point.”
As fans eagerly await more details, it’s clear that Black Label Society is gearing up for a significant year ahead, with new music and potential touring plans on the horizon.
