Megadeth, the multi-platinum thrash metal titans, are currently diving deep into the creative process for their upcoming seventeenth studio album. Vocalist and founder Dave Mustaine recently shared an update with the band’s loyal fanbase through the official cyber army, offering a glimpse into the band’s progress.
According to Mustaine, the renowned producer Chris Rakestraw will once again join forces with the band to produce the new album. Rakestraw, who previously worked with Megadeth on their 2016 album Dystopia, was instrumental in helping the band secure their first-ever Grammy Award in 2017. The new sessions kicked off earlier this month, with members, including the band’s newest guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, contributing ideas to the writing process.
Although the sessions are still in the early stages, a rough timeline of about six months has been outlined for completion. Fans can expect more updates as the writing and recording continue to take shape over the coming months.
