Nothing gets you into the human hating and society denouncing viewpoint like grinding powerviolence/hardcore.
Crawling from the unfathomable depths of Manchester & Liverpool, Burnt Body are here to audibly educate you on the detestable nature of mankind with “Queimadura” (translation: “Burn”).
Opening track “Traitorous” coming right at you with HM2 heavy distorted dissonance before divulging into a d-beat ridden grind assault, the main riff being a very punk/hardcore centred one but turns into a very swedeath style riff when chords are traded for picking the singular notes.
The full unrelenting aural attack continues onwards with “Reap the Flame” & “Dirt View” both tracks are pummelling and feature plenty of hardcore pit riffment mixed with the fast grindcore freneticism.
“Cultivate” lives up to it’s title what with the catchy yet filthy head punk riffs before interchanging into ultra-aggressive “Rib Cage Casket” which chugs hard and heavy.
The EP ends off with both their debut single and the title track – both of which again follow suite on the hard hitting hardcore inspired grind.
Front man Michael Ribeiro bares a very disgruntled & pained voice, reflecting his lyrical tirade against humanity and animal abusers alike, picture it as a mix between Nails & Harms Way but with a death metal tint.
EPs, demos and splits are perfect for this style as it’s over quickly and leaves you wanting more opposed to an album that may feature filler material or just meander – BB literally burn er I mean quimadura through the 13 minutes with ease.
Buzzy chainsaw guitars playing fight riffs, blast and d-beat drums & pissed-off, nihilistic harsh vocals are what is offered here, nothing more nothing less.
