Dimmu Borgir is Recording A New Album!

Earlier today (Tuesday, December 3), Dimmu Borgir shared a new photo of their drummer, Dariusz “Daray” Brzozowski, in the studio with producer Nordström, accompanied by the caption: #studiotime.

In an interview earlier this year with Rauta, Dimmu Borgir’s guitarist and vocalist, Silenoz, provided an update on the band’s new material. He explained that the band had been working intermittently on their upcoming release: “We’ve been at it for quite a while, working on new stuff. During the pandemic, we had some downtime, so we worked individually, and then came together to shape something new.”

He further emphasized the band’s commitment to quality, stating, “Fans are eager for a new album, but we’d rather take our time and make it the best it can be, even if that means taking an extra year. We want to deliver something exceptional, not just good.”

Silenoz also expressed hope for future releases, adding, “We want to stay active and share new music with both existing fans and new listeners. While it takes time, we believe the longer the wait, the better the result.”

The upcoming album will be Dimmu Borgir’s first since the departure of longtime guitarist Galder (Thomas Rune Andersen) in August.
