(FFO: The Armed, Show Me The Body, Melt Banana)
Moni Jitchell’s incredible new album ‘AWARE’ has been released independently today.
AWARE’ sees Moni Jitchell reinforce their own style of post-hardcore and push into new territory all at once, forging a sound only this Glaswegian two-piece could pull off. The LP’s artwork and visuals by Sean Patrick Campbell and Mitchell F Gillies tie with the music perfectly: moody, intense, and chaotic; yet still within touching distance of anti-macho, art-rock optimism. ‘AWARE’ is a dense, layered, and mature step forward for Moni Jitchell – an LP that stands as one of the strongest of 2026, and a band whose confounding, drummerless live set-up needs to be seen to be fully believed.
To celebrate, they have released a new video for album track ‘Ask’.
“Straight and to the point – it seems obvious now that ‘Ask’ would be the song to open Moni Jitchell’s second LP ‘AWARE’. Having been part of the live show for years (an early version can be heard on 2024’s 10-member “One Year Unreal” live album), ‘Ask’ sets the tone for the record by weeding out listeners early on or make them eager to dig more into the record. Over in just shy of 90 seconds, ‘Ask’ shows Moni Jitchell have lost none of their ability to blast through riffs and speed changes, setting the bar for an LP that never lets up its momentum.” – Moni Jitchell
