September 19, 2025 (Los Angeles, Calf.) — The second single from upcoming Dawn Fades album titled, III, debuts today. “The track is called “Stripped” and the principle idea of this song,” band founder Samuel Sherwood says, “is if we wait for some authority figure to decide what rights we should have, we’ll be waking up every day with less and less of them.”
The new Dawn Fades album titled, III, comes out on October 24, 2025. Dawn Fades fuses post-metal’s dynamic depth with heavy sludge — drawing comparisons to Neurosis, Yob, Isis, Deftones and Cult of Luna, while forging a sound distinctly their own.
Dawn Fades worked with the filmmakers at Ravensview on their horror-themed music video for album track “Drugs.” They are actively looking for screening opportunities in and around Los Angeles/Southern California or beyond. Halloween-themed events will gladly be considered.
Samuel Sherwood, a life-long drummer, started the band in 2016 when he was forced to step away from his instrument after developing chronic pain. He taught himself guitar as a means to maintain his sanity. Now his intense vocal presence anchors the band alongside Mike Wright (guitar), who was previously in a touring band signed to a Seattle indie label and worked with legendary producer/engineer Sylvia Massy, Nate Hertweck (guitar), founding member of Ocelot Robot and Dinosaur Tooth, and Markus Erren Pardiñas (bass), hailing from Germany where he released three albums with hard rock band Flying Circus.
III, was recorded and produced by Dawn Fades in 2023-2024. Drums were recorded with Josh Newell (Intronaut, Linkin Park, NPR Tiny Desk Technical Director) and mixed by Mario Quintero (Spotlights). The band has shared the stage with Dreadnought, Circle of Sighs, Old Blood, Destroy Judas, Spotlights, REZN, King Buffalo, Ragana, Holy Grove, Ranges, Man Mountain, Future Usses, Sixes, Dawn Rayd, Yidhra, Karas, Sutratma, Sol, Friendship Commanders, and Dead Register. Their previous two albums ( Dawn Fades, Ode) were released by Metal Assault Records in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
